Join esea ArtClub on Thursday, 23rd January 2025, at 11 am for an engaging and free creative workshop tailored for East and Southeast Asian elders aged 50 and above. This free event celebrates the spirit of the Lunar New Year through the timeless art of Chinese calligraphy.
Guided by the creative practitioner Xincai Tan, participants will learn to create elegant Chinese characters using traditional brush techniques, focusing on phrases and symbols that embody the joy and prosperity of the Lunar New Year. Xincai will also share insights into the cultural significance of calligraphy in New Year traditions, including Chinese spring couplets, making this workshop both an artistic and festive experience.
During the session, you’ll craft your own New Year-inspired calligraphy pieces, whether it’s writing meaningful blessings or creating vibrant decorations to welcome the year ahead. This workshop offers a warm and inclusive space to develop your skills and connect with the rich traditions of this celebratory season.
