James Collar, a Fine Art Painting graduate from the Manchester School of Art, explores the intersection of colour, gesture, and composition in his practice. His work, inspired by artists who blend figuration and abstraction, celebrates the overlooked joy in everyday life.
Collar has exhibited widely in Manchester, including the group show Still Life at PS Mirabel. He was also selected by the Manchester School of Art for an interview with Zoe Watson, curator at The Lowry.
Currently pursuing an MA in Art Gallery and Museum Studies at The University of Manchester, Collar also serves as Programme and Communications Assistant at esea contemporary.
